States of Matter

There are 3 states of matter, I'm talkin' 'bout today
Solid, liquid, gas, now let me hear you say
SOLID, LIQUID, GAS!
Solid keeps its shape and volume, no matter what you do
But if you raise the temp'ature, it will turn into
A Liquid!
Liquids' volume stays the same, that will never change,
but if you switch containers, its shape will rearrange!
Now gas!
Gas- has- no- predetermined shape, or predetermined volume
It can fill up your lungs, or even a balloon.
SOLID, LIQUID, GAS!
Now let's talk about the particles
cuz we are so smarticle
how fast do they move,
in solids just like you?
(vibrate fists back and forth)
Liquid!
They move past each other and around one another
movin' fast and free,
one by one, separately!
(fast hand movements)
Gas!
What was that speedin' by?
Oh my, Oh my!
A gas particle, to fast for my eye!
(wild, crazy hand movements)

NOW STOP!!!
and turn the temp'ature low.
get low real low
molecules movin' slow
and stop!
and turn it sown lower
get lower and lower
molecules movin' slower
cuz now we're back to
Solid, liquid, gas!
Solid, liquid, gas!
